BERLIN - Police dogs in the western city of Duesseldorf will no longer get their feet dirty when on patrol — the entire dog unit will soon be equipped with blue plastic fiber shoes, a police spokesman said Monday."All 20 of our police dogs — German and Belgian shepherds — are currently being trained to walk in these shoes," Andre Hartwich said. "I'm not sure they like it, but they'll have to get used to it."The unusual footwear is not a fashion statement, Hartwich said, but rather a necessity due to the high rate of paw injuries on duty. The eBay ad read, male 8 month year old baby boy, sleeps well throughout the night and doesn't cry much. Good for infertile couple or single man or woman wanting child. Starting bid was 1 euro. The couple recieved no bids but got several emails. eBay removed this ad 2 hours after being on and notified police. When police arrived the couple said it was a joke which police did not buy the story. The couple was charged with attemped child trafficing and the child was taken into custody of the states hands for protection reasons. This show has made me a fan of German Shepherds and if I was not so sick I would go out and have my own and train him. I never new what amazing dogs Shepherds were. So clever, so intelligent, so amazing. Yes I know people will say that it is all training and I admit that most of it is but that shows how intelligent the breed is. I have trained heaps of dogs with varying results. This dog is clearly intelligent and has an amazing nose when it comes to searching scents etc. I am so impressed and he is handsome as well.
