Local Police or Military Police?
All right people friends and family lets try this choice..... If given the opportunity to take any one of these careers which would you choose and why? Also try to picture that this choice is a lifetime career 25 yrs+. Try and be specific in your reply. besides being specific helps you earn mopre coinage here also. HAHAHA. Okay.........Local Police Enforcement or military police.I would choose the military police as I feel if I was risking my life in the law enforcemnet aspect then Id prefer that I do it for my country not just my local area.
You Did What??
I work with this woman who, by looking at her and talking to her, you expect her to be very meek and mild. She is older, I'd say about 65-70 years old. She is always dressed in suits, but she looks like grandma. She's not shy, but she's not aggressive either. she certainly does have a way with our employees though. When she goes home, she is someone you'd expect to bake and play with her grandkids, which is I'm sure what she does do now.So, on Friday we were talking about our background check policy and she said something like "when I was in law enforcement...". I stopped the conversation and asked what she meant. Turns out my meek and mild co-worker used to be a cop. AND....not only was she a cop, but she was in the FBI...for over ten years! I swear you could have knocked me over with a feather when I found this out.Do you now know, or have you ever known anyone that you formed an impression of based on what you currently knew of them and saw. But, later you found out something that just shocked you because it seemed so out of character for them? It could be a former career or just something they did that you would never have expected. People are surprised...
Feel the Sunshine!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/13/AR2010041303067_pf.html World leaders arriving in Washington for President Obama's Nuclear Security Summit must have felt for a moment that they had instead been transported to Soviet-era Moscow. They entered a capital that had become a military encampment, with camo-wearing military police in Humvees and enough Army vehicles to make it look like a May Day parade on New York Avenue, where a bicyclist was killed Monday by a National Guard truck. In the middle of it all was Obama -- occupant of an office once informally known as "leader of the free world" -- putting on a clinic for some of the world's greatest dictators in how to circumvent a free press. The only part of the summit, other than a post-meeting news conference, that was visible to the public was Obama's eight-minute opening statement, which ended with the words: "I'm going to ask that we take a few moments to allow the press to exit before our first session."Reporters for foreign outlets, admitted for the first time to the White House press pool, got the impression that the vaunted American freedoms are not all they're cracked up to...
She Declared "Martial Law" After All..
Hello lotters, This country once faced the most terrible declaration that was declared by another president almost three decades ago and it cost the lives of a lot of people, most specially the media. after the most proud "Edsa Revolution" the FIlipino declared "NEVER AGAIN" and we almost live happily ever after.[em]lol[/em].Oh, really?[em]glare[/em]so, what's THIS? the out going and possible incoming congresswoman Gloria Arroyo has finally declared, and finally we have Martial Lawagain..but only in Maguindanao, Mindanao Island,Philippines. the difference now is that it is short for only sixty days. but critics claimed it's an over-kill and there will be a joint session of Congress and Senate on december 08 regarding this declaration. Although i am admire that with this action too by the Government as they said that it will hasten the process in stripping the ampatuans of their power, most specially when the combined military & police force raid and found more arms, bullets and armored vehicles in the Ampatuans house; All of this would have been avoided If Teodoro listened to a warning that was issued by a Governor in Mindanao, he told Gilbert Teodoro about...
Why do they call a no-win situation a "Catch-22"?
You know you're old when people ask about the origin of phrases that were introduced in your lifetime. The phrase "Catch-22" comes from the book of that name by Joseph Heller (1923-1999), published in 1961. Catch-22 is a wonderful book, full of dark humor and absurdity, satirizing war, military bureaucracy, and by extension modern life and the ways in which they destroy the human spirit. The word "catch" of course is used in the sense of snare, snag or entanglement. The story is set in Italy in World War II. The main character, Captain Yossarian, is a bombardier (as Heller had been) who wants to get out of flying potentially deadly combat missions. So does his tent-mate, Orr. The easiest way to get out of flying more missions is to plead insanity. Heller writes: There was only one catch, and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and he would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if...
Please Prayers Are Needed (MISSING SOLDIER)
Nov. 18th My husband Jesse has been missing now for about 48 hours. He missed his 2nd day of work today inprocessing from Iraq and is now considered AWOL. He supposedly went to the hospital yesterday to the social work clinic for an appointment at 4pm. Who knows if he actually WENT though and the clinics are closed on weekends. The military police are looking for him, too. He has not tried to use his debit card and his car is in the same spot as it was 2 days ago. I am VERY worried about him so PLEASE pray that he is okay. I am worried he is having some kind of post traumatic stress disorder problem or something like that because I don't think he would do this...I have exhausted all my resources and don't know what else to do except wait. Please just keep him in your thoughts. I would be lost without him and Jessiah keeps asking for Daddy. I can't even bear to listen to him. I don't know if I am strong enough to do this. Please pray that God will give me strength. Thank-you all...Nov. 19 My husband, Jessiah is now listed as a missing person on the national database. He still has not made any phone calls from his cell phone, not used his debit card, he still has not gone...
Obama sends additional troops to Afghanistan
Barack Obama has ordered additional troops to be sent to war,Obama said during his face off debate with Senator John McCain the important war was in Afghanistan and if he has to he will go to Bin Laden's cave and kill him,do you think Barack Obama is tough enough to go to Bin Laden's cave and kill him?Oct 12,2009 Washington Post http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33286292/ns/world_news-washington_post/(More Americans sent to the battle fields by Obama)President Obama announced in March that he would be sending 21,000 additional troops to Afghanistan. But in an unannounced move, the White House has also authorized — and the Pentagon is deploying — at least 13,000 troops beyond that number, according to defense officials. The additional troops are primarily support forces, including engineers, medical personnel, intelligence experts and military police. Their deployment has received little mention by officials at the Pentagon and the White House, who have spoken more publicly about the combat troops who have been sent to Afghanistan. The deployment of the
"Internment/Resettlement"..trying to get some facts out
I originally attempted to post this in Politics, since the Fear Factor version of this position has been posted here a number of times, but it somehow ended up in LaLa Land somewhere. I'm reposting it ONLY to give the folks who normally come to this topic, and who have been concerned about this, the opportunity to read some facts provided by...surprisingly...World Net Daily. They do slip back over to the dark side at the end but, for the most part, they actually practice straight, from reliable sources, reporting which resolves the misconceptions about the controversial position of "Internment/Resettlement" within the Army National Guard. Part of the article is provided below. Facts about National Guard 'internment' job sites
This World Net Daily "Exclusive" slips back over to the dark side at the end but, for the most part, actually resolves the misconceptions about the controversial position of "Internment/Resettlement" within the Army National Guard by actually going to the source. Part of the article is provided below. Does this make sense to you or do your suspicions of our own military members still run wild?***National Guard reveals 'internment' job sites Military confirms it follows Constitution, civilian leaders-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: August 13, 2009 10:30 pm EasternBy Bob Unruh © 2009 WorldNetDaily Soldiers recruited to be "Internment/Resettlement" specialists by a series of National Guard ads concerning "civilian resettlement" locations would have assignments overseas, not within the U.S., says a National Guard spokesman who reports members pledge to follow the U.S. Constitution and take orders from American civilian authorities. The response came several days after WND submitted questions to the National Guard about the advertisements for "Internment" soldiers who could operate in a "civilian...
A Question For The Ages
In my job function I have to travel a lot and I meet a lot of different people. The division of me company that I work for has only one client and that is Walmart. One of the stores I paid a visit to I meet a young produce associate who was 18 and fixing to graduate from high school, this was a few months back mind you. I was talking to him and he told me that he was planning to go into the Army. I asked him what did he want to do in the Army. He said that he would like if possible to be a MP, military police. He want to become a policemen, but he has to wait until he is at lest 21 before they will even consider him. This got me thinking, which can be very dangerous at times, he is already at boot camp right now, and in a matter of time he will be armed with a M16 or some other military issued firearm. He might be call to make quick decision like to shoot or not to shoot. He will probably make the right decision like a lot of other 18 year olds have done before. Apparently they are intelligent enough to make the right decision on the battlefield but not in a squad car? This question could be extend to an 18 year old can die for his country but he better not drink one ounce of...
